Assistant Minister

Hours: Full Time
The Assistant Minister role is a senior and strategic one, alongside the Vicar and other clergy and senior leaders, responsible for leading 30 members of paid staff and trainees, and teaching and equipping the congregation in Christian faith and discipleship, both in mission and ministry. The role is for an ordained Anglican, and may be appropriate as a second curacy post.
The successful applicant should have a) a thorough theological training, b) experience of developing and empowering leaders, c) gifts in preaching, teaching, and apologetics, and ability to communicate and connect across cultures and social backgrounds, d) evangelistic experience in leading the Alpha Course, and e) a passion for the outworking of the gospel in society. There will be opportunity for a) line-managing other paid staff, b) supporting and participating in well-established community projects, c) conducting seminars, weekends, conferences and events, d) guiding Sunday congregations through transition and change, and e) the possibility of leading a church plant in the next two or three years.
