City Transformation

We love because He first loved us.

We want to see the City Rise by serving people facing hardship, creating connections and developing places of safety and belonging that are embedded in the love of Jesus.

Transforming the City

  • Wandsworth Foodbank provides emergency food, support and advice to local people and families in hardship. We also advocate for policies and provisions that will better protect people in our community from poverty and the need for food banks.

To see how you can get involved, please email elle@wandsworth.foodbank.org.uk.

  • The Spear Programme is an employment support programme for 16–24-year-olds who have faced barriers to realising their potential.

We equip them with the confidence, motivation and skills they need to succeed in long-term employment. 75% of the young people we work with get into work and are still there a year later.

To see how you can get involved please email hello@spearclaphamjunction.org.

  • Cheer hosts free Sunday lunches here at St Mark’s twice a term, offering friendship and hope to those parenting alone. Cheer is for all single parents and their children, whatever their circumstances; addressing issues of isolation, loneliness, and financial hardship.

After the lunch, we host a space for parents to meet together for prayer and spiritual encouragement whilst our team provides games and activities for children and youth.

To join us at a lunch or to volunteer on a team, please email lucinda@uwclub.net.

  • We partner with Acts 435, an online crowdfunding platform that allows church members to give towards specific items for people in hardship in our church and local community.

We send Acts 435 alerts by email twice a month.

To receive the alerts or if you know someone in need of help please email marie.veitch@smbr.church.

  • The Women’s Drop-in runs every Thursday in term time 11am-1pm here at St Mark’s. Our welcoming team provide a safe space for women to be together and chat over a hot drink and homemade cake.

All are welcome. We share a free hot lunch, a nail bar and a craft table. Once a month we offer a faith reflection for any who’d like to join.

  • The Wandsworth One Stop Shop is a free drop-in service providing legal advice, information, and support to those experiencing domestic abuse. No appointment necessary.
